The Thames from Hampton Court to Sunbury Lock

Sunbury lock was first built in 1812, then rebuilt 40 years later.

 

A second pair of gates was added in 1838 to conserve water when used by small boats.

 

Rollers were added in 1866. The lock was rebuilt in 1886, and a second lock was built alongside in 1925.
